Background screening, only to some extent, enables employers to evaluate prospective employees' character, personality, attitude, fitness and other factors. The need for verification of these factors is in order to eliminate potential safety and security risks. Having said this, as we saw earlier, a clean background does not necessarily mean that the candidate will not be a safety and security risk in future.
