Glypican-3 (GPC3) is an oncofetal glycoprotein attached to the cell membrane. The expression of GPC3 is seen in various tumors, most notably in hepatocellular carcinomas(HCCs). Since GPC3 is not expressed in normal adult human tissue. GPC3 is considered an attractive target for tumor-directed diagnostics and therapy.
